Rachel first tried yoga 7 years ago when a friend offered to teach a class to alleviate muscle pain and relieve stress. She instantly fell in love with the practice. Rachel recognized the benefits and was addicted to the energy and stability it gave her. To pursue this love affair further, she then travelled to Vancouver, Canada where she completed her Hatha teacher training with Semperviva Yoga.
Rachel continued her studies in Sydney where she worked with Bianca Machliss and Simon Borg-Oliver at Yoga Synergy. She studied anatomy and physiology and continued to build her understanding of the fundamentals of yoga. Most recently she taught in Copacabana where she ran her own studio. Rachel has always had a passion to create a yoga community where people can unwind, reconnect with themselves, all the while connecting with other like-minded people.
Along with her love of yoga there is her devotion to three young children. Rachel found yoga to be particularly valuable during and after her pregnancies. It helped her emotionally and physically and allowed her to stay connected with her changing body.
A teacher of yoga always continues to be a student. Rachel is currently studying with Mysan Sidbo, learning the art of Yin yoga in the 100 hour teacher training. Rachel loves to learn and will continue her growth with Mysan and the Sanctuary.
