Melinda was first drawn to the practice of yoga many years ago for the physical benefits as a mountain biker to keep her body in peak condition and aid recovery from injuries. She practiced prenatal yoga during her first pregnancy to keep herself calm during the birthing process, and to combat stress in her busy life juggling motherhood and high-school teaching, took her personal practice to a deeper level, which inspired her to become a yoga teacher.
“The benefits yoga has brought me physically, mentally and emotionally are amazing, and I am driven to share this ancient practice with others so they too can experience these benefits. I believe yoga can benefit absolutely everyone, and in multiple ways. My approach to teaching is functional, whereby each person’s uniqueness is honoured, and celebrated. Her practices focus on a breath, body, heart and mind connection to our place in the within the universe.
Melinda teaches both Hatha and Yin Yoga at The Sanctuary. She completed her 400hr Hatha and 100hr Yin Teacher Trainings with Mysan Sidbo.
